INTRODUCTION:
Grill Magnets offer excellent protection from metal contamination. As product flows over the magnetic tubes, captured metal contaminants are pushed to the underside of the tube where they are now out of contact with the product flow preventing was hoff back in to the clean material.
Star Trace Magnetic filters are made up of stainless steel tubes. Each tube consists of an array of permanent magnetic discs specially designed and configured to generate high magnetic forces. The filters can be supplied using either ferrite or rate earth magnets. The tubes have a diameter of either 3/4” or 1” or 1.5”. The filters can be supplied in various sizes with width and length varying from 9 to 36 inches. Circular or rectangular shapes are offered. Customized sizes, shapes and design can also be offered.
Grill Magnets are important magnetic separators, used for separating tramp iron or ferrous contaminants from free flowing granular materials. Our grill magnet are made of rare earth magnets or ceramic magnets. The magnetic grills are aligned in certain angles that attracts the contaminants. Available in various shapes and sizes, our grill magnets have wide applicability in various industries like chemical industries, food processing industries, mining and mineral industries plastic and ceramic industries etc.
CONSTRUCTION:
The grills are made up of magnetic elements, which are fitted inside a required size frame. Magnetic Elements are made up of hard ferrite ceramic magnets or high intensity rare earth magnets. All the components are made up of Stainless Steel 304/316 material. The overall construction of the magnetic grills can also be made as per the customer specification and sizes.
WORKING:
As the material flows through the grills, the iron particles are attracted by the magnets and they are trapped over the surface of the element. The trapped material has to be removed manually after removing magnetic grills from its location. In case of self cleaning grills the iron particles get trapped over the extra sleeve provided on the elements, they get released as soon as the elements are pushed out of the sleeves.

BULLET MAGNETS


INTRODUCTION:
Aerodynamically shaped with a solid stainless steel nose cone, the flow through design of the Bullet Magnet allows the magnet to be used anywhere in a pneumatic line system. It can be used ahead of processing equipment and bulk load out to assure product purity and protect machinery from tramp metal damage. The nose cone diverter and magnet assembly of the Bullet is designed to maintain a balanced flow through the housing thereby maintaining uniform velocity in line flow. Ideal for dilute phase systems, typical Bullet Magnet applications include: movement of powder and granular flour, chemical, plastic, food stuff, pharmaceutical and mineral materials.

Besides the simplicity of the drive, many other features have been incorporated to provide machine which is specifically designed for heavy duty applications, long life, and low operating and maintenance costs, at a competitive price. The standard range of screens is presented later in the brochure, and these are normally available on short delivery.
OPERATION:


During material dewatering, water is filtered through the mesh as a result of vibration while the material is conveyed toward the point of discharge. The filtered water carries solid particles whose size is slightly smaller than the mesh openings, which must be recovered by means of hydrocycloning and incorporated to final product in the discharge area. The level of moisture that can be obtained in the end product is between 10% and 15%, depending on its nature, particle size distribution and water content in the feed materials.

CONSTRUCTION:
SCREEN
Screen, formed by modular polyurethane or stainless steel panels. The special design of these panels, with trapezial cross section mesh openings, together with their elasticity, revent obstruction and blocking. The result is a larger effective filtering area than in other types of mesh. Thanks to the modular design, the position of the mesh in the panel can be changed to ensure a regular wear of each panel.
VIBRATORY MOTOR:
These rugged, heavy duty units are exceptionally well insulated against the ingress of dust and water. Their IP 55 protection ensures that the units can operate in wet conditions, such as in washing and dewatering applications. A very generous holding-down bolt design is incorporated. A common complaint in the past has often been that vibratory motors tended to come loose. A great deal of thought and attention has been given to the fastening design of these motors. When compared with other makes of vibratory motors, the holding-down bolts are often in excess of 50-1 00% over designed. This, together with stress-relieved and machined surfaces and correctly torched nuts and locknuts, results in an exceptionally secure vibrator fastening system. When two vibratory motors of the same frequency are fixed to a rigid common base, which is freely suspended, or supported and run in opposite directions to each other, they automatically synchronise to produce a straight line motion. When this motion is applied to a screen, the result is a horizontal action screen suitable for screening, conveying and dewatering of a large variety of products in limited headroom situations.

Vibratory Feeder:

High-Frequency Vibration:
With an appropriate deck slope, high-frequency vibration affords conveying speeds as high. This vibration is maintained even with varying line power fluctuation.
Electromagnetic Operation:
Electrical pulses in the coils create a series of magnetic pulls that attract the armature and the deck. Restoring forces in the bar oppose each pull, causing the armature to spring away from the magnet. At an electrical frequency of 60 cycles per second, the armature and the deck operate at 3,600 times per minute (the vibration rate of the feeder). Material is moved by a series of “jumps” that correspond to the frequency of the vibrations. The distance the bars travel can be changed by varying the voltage to the coils. With this variation in the length of each “jump,” or vibration amplitude, the conveying speed of the material on the feeder deck changes, resulting in a capacity rate that fits your requirements.
Suspension Mounts:
These can take one of four forms, bonded rubber mounts, hollow rubber mounts, helical coil compression springs or helical coil tension springs. The type of mount is selected to suit the requirements of the installation and to provide a minimum isolation efficiency of 95%.

STAR TRACE Eddy Current Separation devices are an effective way of removing non-ferrous metals from other products. Eddy Current Rotor:

STAR TRACE Eddy Current Rotor uses an alternating magnetic field to produce electrical currents in conductive metal. The electrical current generates its own magnetic field around an object which opposes the magnetic field from the Eddy Current. This repulsion diverts the object from the product stream. Mass, conductivity and density influence the force and distance an object will repel.
Working of Eddy Current Separator:
Eddy current separation is based on the use of a magnetic rotor with alternating polarity, spinning rapidly inside a non-metallic drum driven by a conveyor belt. As non-ferrous metals pass over the drum, the alternating magnetic field creates eddy currents in the non-ferrous metal particles repelling the material away from the conveyor. While other materials drop off at the end of the conveyor, the non-ferrous metals are propelled forward over a splitter for separation.

INTRODUCTION:
STAR TRACE Roll Magnetic Separator is a roll type dry magnetic separator with fixed magnet having high field intense and gradient. The magnets used in the Roll Magnetic Separators and made of alloys of rare earth elements are more powerful as compared to other magnets. They generate high attraction forces on the magnetic roll due to their properties and special magnetic series. The obtained high magnetic attraction forces have low magnetic sensitivity and therefore they make it possible to separate very fine low magnetic minerals with a high recovery.
The most distinguishing property of Roll Magnetic Separator is the used magnets that are an alloy of rare earth elements produced domestically and more powerful. Magnetic Systems has a number of standard sizes in which the high gradient separator is produced, and all of these sizes only require a low installation height. Working Principle:
Roll Magnetic Separators consist of two rolls, one of which is magnetics. There is a belt between them to carry the ore into the magnetic field. The movement of the belt is controlled by a motor fixed to one of the rolls. The rotational speed of rolls can be adjusted according to the material properties.The material to be processed is conveyed to the belt by vibrating feeder at a required rate. Feeding rate can be controlled by adjusting the vibration on feeder. A separator blade has been set in order to be able to collect separated products in different places and to adjust the product properties in a desired manner.

Working Principle:
The motivation is through a unbalanced motor with a double extended shaft, fitted at both ends with eccentric weights .The top weight on the motor shaft rotates in a plane close to the center of the mass of assembly. Rotation of the top eccentric weights creates vibration in the horizontal plane, which causes material to move across the screen cloth to periphery increasing the horizontal throw, causing oversize material to discharge at a faster rate. The bottom eccentric weight rotates below the center of mass creating tilt on the screen giving vibration in vertical and tangential plane. Increasing the vertical component of motion, this promotes turnover of material on the screen surface helping maximum quantity of undersize material to pass through the screen. Rugged Springs placed over the circular motor base amplifies the vibration.
The top weight on the motor shaft rotates in a plane close to the centre of the mass of assembly. Rotation of the top eccentric weight creates vibration in the horizontal plane which causes material to move across the screen cloth to periphery. Increasing the top eccentric mass, increases the horizontal throw, causing oversize material to discharge at a faster rate. The bottom eccentric weight rotates below the centre of mass, creating tilt on the screen, giving vibration in vertical & tangential planes. Increasing the vertical component of motion, this promotes turnover of material on the screen surface helping maximum quantity of undersize material to pass through the screen. The vertical motion also minimizes blinding of screen by “near size” particles. The tangential component of motion is controlled by the angle of lead given to bottom weights with relation to top weight. Variation in lead angle controlled the spiral pattern of material travel over the screen cloth. Speed & flow pattern of material travel over the screen cloth can be set by the operator for maximum throughout & screening efficiency for any screen able product.... wet or dry...coarse or fine… Heavy or light… hot or cold. Typical material passes rapidly through the screen during its travel to the periphery. The over size material get continuously discharged through a tangential outlet.

STAR TRACE Drum Separators are primarily designed and manufactured as low field intensity separators. They have an open magnetic system with the magnetic poles located in one plain. Low field intensity separators are employed for separating iron particles from bulk material whenever foreign iron disturbs the subsequent process sequences. It is also used for removing or enriching strongly magnetic content of dry minerals.

The most widely used application of drum separators is by deflection separation in which the bulk material is fed onto the top of the drum. This must be spread evenly over the entire width in order to ensure optimum utilisation of the drum. The use of a vibratory feeder is appropriate for feeding the material tangentially onto the drum. This operating procedure ensures minimum wear to the outer drum and guarantees constant-speed application. At normal feed speed of 0.2-0.3 m/sec. using vibratory feeders, the material is spread and distributed quickly over the drum, which rotates at a speed of 0.6-0.8 m/sec. The material is reduced to 1/3 - 1/4 of the feed layer height.
On permanent drum separators rectangular magnetic blocks generally made of sintered hard ferites are radially magnetized and mounted on a soft iron plate. The magnetic drum is connected to a rigidly fixed shaft, the position of which is adjustable. The outer drum made of high-grade steel or manganese steel rotates around the axis supported on roller bearings.

TYPES OF MAGNET DRUM SEPARATOR
Closed Type Drum Separator Configuration:
The totally enclosed type drum comes complete with a chute type feeder, hopper, adjustable feed regulation gate, magnetic drum and geared motor drive in a ready for use condition. Inlet and Outlet openings are flanged for ease of connection to customers duck work. Double or Triple totally enclosed machines can also be supplied if required by clients.

Wet Drum Separator:
STAR TRACE's Wet Permanent Magnetic Separators are offered in size of dia 1200mm(48') and 916mm(36'W) ion lengths of upto 3000mm(10’). Three basic separator designs are available for copping, roughing and finishing/cleaning applications. Each type can be supplied in single drum or multiple drum stages of taconite or magnetic and also for recovery for magnetic medium in dense media plants. The stationery magnet yoke is an assembly of Rare Earth Neodymium Permanent Magnets. The rotating drum is available with optional rubber or stainless covers. The magnetic flux pattern will match the tank configuration for optimum perormance.

Introduction
STAR TRACE's Liquid Line Magnetic Traps are designed to extract the ferrous materials from the slurry or liquid raw materials in order to purify the material in the production process. Strong magnetic tubes filter the flow and extract the unwanted ferrous metal. The unit is simply connected to the existing pipeline via flanged or threaded ends. Simple and easy access is possible using the quick release lid. Cleaning of the magnets is easily accomplished by removing the cover plate of the housing and sliding out each magnet assembly.

Highest grade of magnet material with choices including Neodymium-Iron-Boron(rare-earth), Samarium-Cobalt (rare-earth), Ceramic, and Alnico.

Application

The metallic components like scrap, bales, pig iron and foundry retains are stored in the hopper. The hopper shape is specially designed to enable bulky and irregular scrap pieces to be extracted without problem. Vibrating furnace charger is effective solutions to problems such as high labor cost, hazards operators faced in foundries, melting shops etc. Such a kind of automation allows foundry men to work at a safe distance thus preventing injuries arising out of molten metal splash. It also facilitates in rapid and quick charging of the furnace thereby allowing maximum utilization of the furnace, in addition to this, the damage to furnace lining is avoided which normally occurs in manual charging of the furnaces.
Vibratory Furnace Charger consists of a vibrating feeder mounted on a moving trolley with a storage hopper mounted above the feeder. The charging car on the vibrating furnace charger comprises a discharge chute with vibratory feeder for the metallic components and is hopper all mounted on the traveling framework with drive gear. The discharge snout is inclined and formed of a rounded trough to bring about a good charge distribution and enable irregular or bulky pieces of scrap or returns to be discharged. The feeder is driven by unbalanced motors. The vibration frequency can be altered by an A. C. Inverter, thereby regulating the feed velocity and also influencing the noise emission. The batch hopper as well as the charging feeder is built in sandwich construction which reduces the noise generated by contact between the charge materials and the hopper walls or feeder deck. However, this does not eliminate the noise produced by contact between the charge pieces themselves.

Vibratory Furnace Charger Operating Principle
The required amount of scrap metal is loaded into the storage hopper at the loading point. The trolley then carries the vibrating feeder along with the storage hopper to the furnace charging point. Here, the vibrating feeder is energized and the material is effectively discharged into the furnace as per the required capacity. As the metal is melted down, fresh batch of metal can be fed into the furnace thereby keeping the furnace full. The capacity of the vibrating feeder can be varied by varying the amplitude of variations. The amplitude of vibrations can be varied by adjusting the position of centrifugal weights or by using a variable frequency drive (optional). A control panel specially designed to suit individual client requirement depending on the sequence of operations required is provided.

Magnetic Separator has been developed to handle high volume product stream flows that exceed the limitations of standard permanent suspended magnets. These models are available in both, manual on/off or automatic, self cleaning system designs. Electrical Power Supplies to operate the magnets are also available and recommended to ensure proper electrical power is supplied to the magnet.
Construction
Two U-section pieces are fixed on the Magnet by fastening ears and are supporting bearings of Drums. Drums are equipped with shafts mounted on removable hubs. All bearings equipped with stakes for tightening the belt. The belt is driven by a Reduction Gear Coupled to Electric Motor or Geared Motor by Vee- belts.
Magnet Unit
The Magnet is made of High Intensity Strontium Ferrite Magnets and is guaranteed for the Magnetic Power throughout the life of installation. A Non - Magnetic Stainless steel Plate is provided to cover the poles of Magnet. There is no need for any electrical supply or maintenance.

INTRODUCTION:
The quick, safe and easy way to lift ferrous materials and work pieces. These are two Pole Permanent Magnetic Lifters. The two poles are at the bottom of the lifter. These lifters use high grade Magnets for producing strong magnetic flux path through the two poles. The lifter is placed on the MS flat/block that is to be lifted. The turn of the handle in its ON position with MS flat/block/cylinders (to be lifted) at the bottom ensures completion of magnetic flux path through the MS body. Working Principle:

Basic Techniques:
Attach the permanent magnet lifter to suitably tested lifting equipment, using the body hook. To attach the permanent magnet lifter to the item being lifting, simply offer the base of the unit up to a clean, grease free on the item. Determine the load weight and centre of gravity as accurately as possible. Once in position, move the magnet level fully anticlockwise until it is held captive by the level lock. Once attached, rise and move the item to where it is required. Before lifting/moving, ensure the load is free and not restrained by fixings etc. Lift the load a nominal distance to check balance and security of the load. Use tag lines to control long or bulky load.
